Book Review- The Midnight Rose

Hello Everyone!

I was reading again. I have to say I missed it so much and I find reading such an important part in life as you do something for yourself, you heart, your soul. I have bought so many book I want to read, yet I have such little time with being a senior in school now. Yet, what I have learned is that we, or I need some "Me- Time" in the day. So I have taught myself to go to bed earlier and have that our before I fall asleep to read. This helps me calm down, reset, chill and relax.

As you may know or not, I am a huge fan of Lucinda Riley as I connect to the main topics she writes about a lot. In her book she always has a similar story line or structure which is that the story start in the now but then travels back time and generations and explain the current situation of the main character from the past, with all the drama, heartaches and hurdles that have happened.

The book I want to introduce to you today is "The Midnight Rose". Written by Lucinda Riley and published in 2013 by Pan Mcmillan (UK).

The book is a romantic novel which is telling the life story of Anahita Chevan to help clarify a lives mystery of hers with the help of her past four generations back to the now and her great grand son. On the journey there is magic, love and passion involved that makes the reader connect with the main characters on another level.

Our reading journey takes us back to India and longs from the British Raj to the present day through the memories of Anahita and and Donald's diary as well as experiences that are happening whilst finding answers to a believe and instinct that eventually solves a life changing moment in the life of Anahita. The book is written for young and old as it connects from levels that only mothers understand as well as the passionate love that us people experience throughout our adolescent years of life all spiced with a bit of magic and reality of life.

I always find myself being absolutely spell bounded only after reading the first chapter of the book as the story lines always have me asking so many questions that I burn to know. However, the solution sonly found in the final chapters which takes me on an exciting journey where I not only learn about history and life acceptance but experience real emotions as well! Yes, I actually cried, and I am one of the most unemotional people in history, I believe.

Now all that there is left to say for me is that I hope that you will close you App, PC or notebook after you ordered the book here or downloaded the audio book as you might want to rather listen because of motivational lack or timely issues.

I really hope you will read or listen to the story as it is a wonderful one and not for any reason a bestseller!

My September Wish List

Hello Everyone!

Once every month I go online and have a look everywhere of what I can get to spoil myself. I think it's very important to pay attention and just splurge a little on you instead of others. It boosts my mood and gives me a little bit more happiness in life, something to look forward to. Some might call it a shopping addiction, I call it treating myself.

Anyways, I am a very indecisive person when it comes to that. So what I do is to go "online- window shopping". Basically I put all the things I like in the basket or on a wish list. This whole process can take up to hours. But instead of directly buying it I close the page and try to distract myself with other things. A week or so later I'll check that basket again and see if I still like what is in there, delete the items I think I actually won't need or don't like. This I do every week until a month is over. By the end of the month I will have my wish list done and buy the "little" what is left in there.

So I thought it be a different and fun idea to actually share my wish list with you. So you can see what crazy thoughts go on in my head or to get an insight to my private life.

And here we go. This month (for September) I was not looking for clothes. I can categorize the list into Beauty, Books and Other things.

Lets start with

Books

I am really into the Kardashians right now and I have grown to like everyone for their own personality. In the beginning I wasn't such a huge fan of Khloe but now I actually find her really inspiring. This is why I want to read her book. She is such a strong, open and funny person.

This is Lindsey Kelks new book and I have been following the writing process on Instagram so I am quiet interested and curious what the finish is like. She is a very romantic and girly writer and I actually enjoy those light and dreamy kind of books.

This is the same category as the book above except for that I liked the title very much. I read a book from Kinsella before and enjoyed the read for sure so I think this won't be a bad book to buy.

Other Things

This is a heating blanket. I need a new one as my old one broke last year and I always get really cold in the winters and now I now for sure it'll be even colder without one and no heater in the apartment. This will definitely be a winter must have for me! I buy them now as they are cheaper now of course, who buys a heating blanket in summer ;)

An instant camera in white! I wanted one for ages and now have come to the terms of actually purchasing it. I am going to take pictures of capable moments with my pets and friends and right after put them on my wall to decorate appropriately. I am so looking forward to it.

Beauty

The new "naked smoky" palette. I have read wonderful things about it and I really like all the colours as they go with what I want for this aw15 season. It'll be quiet a big splurge but investing in high end products has never been a bad thing in my experience as they last so much longer and the end result is of top quality.

Now, I am going to the hairdressers. And I was thinking of cutting and dying my hair. My hair right now is in the growing longer and getting blonder process but in September I have decided to cut it short into the long bob like the picture on the left. I am also going to buy the Remi clip in hair extensions in #16 taffy (pic on the right) to be able to have long hair whenever I want to.

Bookcube- My Current Reading List

Hello Everyone!

I have been really into books lately and have ordered so, so many books since January that it has come to the point that I had to make a list to not forget what I actually want to read (next).

Instead of making a review of every book I thought I will write a small introduction to every book and not spoil anything before you read it (if you do)

An Apple A Day

This is an autobiography about an english journalist who had suffered from a restrictive type of anorexia. She wrote a book about her experience with the illness and her recovery. This is kind of like self recovery for me as far as I want to go anyways. Also I have read all the german and some other book to the topic and I can identify myself in those words a lot.

The Girl On The Cliff

Lucinda Riley - it is said that this is one of the best books she has written so far and I like her as described closer below. So if it is as good as they say than I shall read it of course.

The Midnight Rose

She has grown to my new favourite author because of the mystical way she tells her stories playing in two dimensions that just make sense at the ending of the story. It's always different but the same and so, so interesting as actual historical facts are the ground to the stories. I love her! I have got great expectations about this one.

The Best Of Me

I saw the movie, I adore the male main actor and yes, I do like Nicholas Sparks books. As I bought it I just finished another one of his books and was hooked. I did like the movie but I know that the actual book is always a lot better than the movie, especially as the movie (so others said) wasn't as good as the book. So yes, I am really excited for this one

Girl Online

I did not really know if I should buy it or not since it had been said that it wasn't actually Zoe who wrote the book but a ghost writer but then I thought hey, it still is a story, it is her story she made up, her ideas and so on. Since that I refused to read any reviews about it and am excited to make up my mind about it myself.

Whitney Port

Well this is kind of an advice book. A book about the lifestyle of Whitney Port, her tricks on beauty and thoughts on fashion. I quite like her and she might be a bit of an idol so I like to "get to know her" better.

So these are all my books I want to read. I am really excited to get started since I have recently rediscovered my love of reading. There seems so little time for that now though which is very sad but I want to try and read as much as I can. You actually only need to get into the book and afterwards almost anything you "have to do" seems unimportant to you and the only thing that counts is to know what is written on the next page.

Book Review "Not Quite An Angel" Lucinda Riley

Hello Everyone!

Today I want to introduce another book I actually finished reading and I want everyone out there to know about it.

The book it written by Lucinda Riley who published the book a couple of years back under the name of Lucinda Edmonds. She is an Irish author who now has published a complete row of books, written in the same style.

One the back of the book it says that on a cold december day a girl named Greta Marchmont comes back to Marchmont Hall after a really long time. I's almost Christmas and as Greta wanders around the big building, she tries to remember all the wonderful and precious time she has spend at this place.

Years before she lost all her memory after a big accident. She timbales across a grave as she walks along the forest. The grave itself tells her that this is the place where her son has found his place on earth. This experience gives Greta the needed push and she slowly remembers her past.

The Story starts after the First World War on London as Greta tries to pursue her dreams in becoming an actress. Through a couple of unfortunate happening, Greta stands in front of the ruins of her life and owes her friends David her life that even those ruins don't break down. But fate has some more challenges planned for Greta, as she gives birth to her daughter Cheska, a little girl in the body of an angel but with a dark side inside, which will be her downfall.

I do not quite now how to describe the book because it occupies my thoughts so much still. But it is a really thrilling, very dramatic but exciting and fascinating piece of writing. It takes place in two time levels: 1995 and splits first to a review of Gretas life from 1945, and the story of her daughter Cheska from 1956 and finishes with a link to Gretas granddaughter Ava from 1980 on.

Lucinda Riley neatly understands to stave the reader off until several strings get untangle, without it getting boring.

I recommend this book to everyone who is in the mood for some romantic dramas with a big secret at the end. The story itself is a bit idealistically written but it does not hinder the reading at all. I really enjoyed my time reading it and am really glad I bought the book!

Book Review: Bridget Jones Mad About A Boy

Hello Everyone!

In my holidays I had finally found some time to read again and I thought this would be a great idea to show and review the piece for you.

I bought this book at the airport as well and I was thrilled because of the thought that this journey hasn't finished and the author somehow found a way to write a third piece of her story!

The latest and third book of Bridget Jones " Mad about The Boy" by Helen Fielding.

The book was published in 2013 so I am a bit late to the party as always but better too late than never.

The book starts with a slightly older Bridget who finds herself widowed with two children. Fielding let the good- hearted and loving Mr. Darcy stay alive without having to tell the reading anything nasty so he remains as the perfect husband in our hearts. Anyway, we find Bridget alive and on her feet having everything a woman can ask for 5 years after Marc's death.

The real story though begins one year before that, telling the reader how she managed to do so well and how she explored the new single life and discovered Twitter, lost her baby weight and got "control" over her alcohol units.

I loved reading the book as it is funny as ever and is written out of a woman's mind the way women think in reality which is why we all love Bridget Jones in the first way. Because she represents all or most of our thoughts and shows them on bright daylight not hiding even the most embarrassing moments in her life even with her now 51 years of age.

Without saying anymore I recommend this book to everyone who has not read it, male or female, because men can maybe learn to get an idea of a woman's mind and female will feel understood and can put a smile on their faces because of those facts.

I hope I didn't say too much, I found the book, as I said, really funny, well written and simply Bridget. I really enjoyed reading it and am very enthusiastic about it and could ramble on and on about it but I want to to have the same experience and laughs as I had!
